MSM...
MSM - Methylsulfonylmethane - Unlike DMSO, MSM is found found naturally in food when food is fresh, but is destroyed in all foods, even with moderate processing. MSM, also unlike DMSO, is normally pesent in the bodies of people and animals. MSM and DMSO appear to have very similar effects. But MSM can also be taken orally as a food supplement. One of the beleived benefits of MSM is the relief of muscle and joint pain. Glucosamine and collagen are needed in a healhty joint, and the sulfur that can be provided by MSM is a vital componant of building healhty joints in the body. A combination of
MSM and Vitamin C has been shown to be especially useful in correcting leg cramps. Migraine sufferers also have obtained
substantial relief.
MSM unlike DMSO is a dietary substance and is free of unpleasant odors that have been associated with DMSO. MSM is also noted for its exceptionally non-toxic nature for both children and adults, including geriatric patients.
A single dose of MSM is usually not effective in helping symptoms. Results are usually seen within 2 to 21 days. Daily dosages of 2 to 3 gm are recommended as a starting point. The benefit of MSM will work better when Vitamin C is takin with it.
